The Concert Programme - April/May 2008 - All concerts start at 8.00pm prompt.

26th April - There will be a recital but, due to circumstances beyond our control, this will not be the concert originally planned. Final details to be confirmed.

3 May - Alexander Kudajczyk, discovered as a cleaner in Glasgow, but actually a fine pianist, will play the Ballades of Chopin and some Waltzes and short pieces.

10 May - Two Final Honours performers, Laura Smith (mezzo-soprano) and Steven Flanagan (piano) offer a programme of Purcell, Faure, Fricker and Horowitz.

17 May - Sheena Robertson and friends will play the Schubert piano quintet, the "Trout" and the piano quartet by Schumann

24 May - Our old friends "Midge" will entertain us with a selection of their vocal group's repertoire

31 May - John Willmett's piano recital includes the sonata in E major op.109 by Beethoven.

Members receive the programme free by post every month. There is a modest annual membership subscription fee but the concerts are open and admission is free. If you are interested in becoming a member please contact Graham Bodenham.

The Society attracts a variety of performers from students in search of experience to accomplished amateurs and professionals, well known Scottish or international musicians. In the course of the season, members have the opportunity to hear a wide range of compositions including musical rarities and occasional first performances. If you would like to perform for us, please contact Dr Kingsley and include your telephone number. We will get in touch with you. Please note that we do not pay fees although we can help with expenses.
